11 Traffic Generation Tips From 11 Different Bloggers

Traffic Generation Tips
Any blog’s first and forever dream is to generate traffic. Even though there are thousands of different articles showing hundreds of ways to generate traffic to blogs, sometimes it just doesn’t work for many out there. This article, thus, gives you a list of 11 traffic generation tips from 11 different bloggers. The mail reason to compile this list was to discover whether all bloggers are after organic traffic or not. And you can surely reveal that it is just not the case! Let’s start our list.

Ramandeep Singh

Tip – Our strategy works with all the combined sources. We think, Plan, test, and then implement. We don’t go through what others are doing and what others recommending, since no one reveals secrets. Firstly we see what is attracting our audience, what content they need and we write on audience demand and thus, we get regular readers as we deliver that interests them and proves to be useful for them. Thus it counts in traffic. Google+Twitter+Facebook are not traffic sources for everyone.

My Comments - There you go! Social media is not for everyone. In short, Ramandeep’s blog provides on what their readers demand.

Amit Shaw

Amit ShawFrom – iTechCode.Com

Says – Basically organic traffic from google is my top source but I would say never that one should depend on Google Because when your site is hit by Google Algorithm updates, then much of your blog’s traffic can fall from 100 to 0. Even though I pretty much depend on organic traffic, I equally use social media and it is the a great source which brings loyal readers and if we can use CTA Properly then we can convert those visitors to Readers, then readers to Subscribers and so on. From social media I basically give 60% of my time to Twitter and Triberr. Those two networks are the second and third best traffic sources for my blog. All these visits help me to get some affiliate sales as well.

My Comments - A combination of organic traffic and social media traffic works wonders for Amit – and what about you?

Sandeep Kumar

Advises – Create attractive SEO friendly post Title. It helps me to get Organic and Referral traffic. As the title is SEO frindly (right keyword at right position) so it ranks well in search engines and helps me to get organic traffic. Attractive title creates quorosity among the pass by readers to know what is in the article and they click on your article link whenever you share it on any social networking site.

My Comments - Sandeep asks you to focus on your titles – and the rest will happen by itself. Something unusual, but worth knowing here.

Harneet Bhalla

Harneet BhallaFromPostFever.Com

Prefers – Facebook Groups. Facebook groups can really help to grow traffic by replying to other people’s queries etc. As in the FB groups we can find:

a) Like Minded People
b) Unexplored Fans
c) Unexpected Competitors

The following post is all about Facebook groups. It explains how you can grow your blog’s reputation, traffic and much more. Do read it.

How Facebook Groups Help Me in Building Loyal Readership

My Comments - Interacting on Facebook Groups might take some time, but the effort will be worth it. This is actually a combination of traffic generation tips from Facebook.

Invites you to try – Blogging Contests. I don’t want to repeat common things like Guest Blogging, Social Media, Killer content and blah blah…We all know these things. For me, I think Blogging Contests have given a lot of exposure to me and my blogs. Participating in blogging contests on popular blogs or communities such as Blog Engage gives us a hell lot of readers, connections with new bloggers, and therefore a lot of traffic.

My Comments – One more different approach to getting traffic. Contests not only bring traffic, build relationships and connections, but might also get you some money!

Ajeet Khurana

Has only one word: Content. Now more than ever before, content is indeed king. With Google turning increasingly smarter about recognizing quality content, SEO has changed. If you want traffic from Google, the easiest way is to have great content.

My Comments - Might sound boring to you – but quality content is the key to everything.

Saad Naeem

Saad NaeemFrom – SeoAllRounder.Com

Speaks About Social Media (even though the best traffic source is Google, but doesn’t want to repeat the same things) – Facebook is definitely the best source of traffic for me , it gets me around 500-700 visitors per month from Facebook and in 8 months of blogging it has been the highest. Second traffic source is Twitter which gets me about 300 visitors per month but it gets replaced by linked in , stumbleupon. #Pro Tip : Try to be more engaging in social media sites but try to stick to one at a time for. e.g if you want to get traffic from Facebook then stick with Facebook and share other people’s content in order to get more shares on your links. For Twitter try to use a service like justretweet.com in order to get more followers and traffic. Being social is the key to get awesome traffic , shares , comments, subscribers on your blog.

My Comments - Even though the highest traffic source for Saad’s blog is Google, he preferred to write about Social media. This explains that even though you might not have any organic traffic, you can rely upon Social media.

Ileane Smith

Ms. Ileane preffered to go a step ahead and answer this question by speaking out the answer. Hence, the following link goes out to her answer for this question. Do listen to it – the whole of it.

My All Time Favorite Tip for Getting Blog Traffic

My Comments - If I reveal the answer here, you might probably not listen to the podcast! So go out there and listen to it, if interested.

Pradeep Kumar

Pradeep KumarFrom – HellBoundBloggers.Com

I’ll say “Yahoo! Answers” can be a great source of traffic. Most bloggers think they are outdated and Quora killed them, but that is not true. Even today I do get a good number of visits from Yahoo! Answers, and they are regular.

The trick is to pick a question for which you have a related blog post, and then to answer the question satisfying all the needs. We have to try our best to make our answer as the best one to get extra exposure. In the source section, we can mention our blog post link for additional information, am sure visitors will check that post for getting the solution or to get more information.

My Comments - Another different approach – and a great one indeed. Even today, there are thousands of questions being asked on Yahoo and if you have any information regarding that – you can either post about it on your blog and then link it as an answer, or just link your blog with an answer.

Erik Emanuelli

Erik EmanuelliFrom – FreeMakeMoneyAdvice.Com

I like social media and the relationships you can build joining the most popular networks. Even if some popular bloggers assume that Twitter is dead, this is still a great social media, if used correctly. There are so many online tools linked to Twitter, that you can use to generate many connections in your niche and receive traffic to your websites!

Triberr is my favorite one : a fantastic community site where you can multiply your social media audience. You can decide to connect not only Twitter, but also your LinkedIn and Facebook accounts. The system automatically lets your Triberr members share your new posts via their social media accounts : this amplifies the market reach of your content. Just think that I have almost 43 million of reach and 2400 tribemates, which means each of my new posts may be shared to that number of audience. Pretty amazing, isn’t it? “JustRetweet” and “ViralContentBuzz” are two others tools that I use to promote my new posts.

Basically you earn credits by sharing other user’s content and you can spend them submitting your links, which will be shared by other members in order to earn more credits. Both sites are connected to different social media networks, like Twitter, Facebook, Google Plus and Pinterest.

If you do not use any of the tools I have just mentioned, I strongly recommend you to start right now, if you want to get your market reach amplified!

My Comments - I’m going to be Erik’s tribemate soon – and I hope to see you there as well!

I think Guest Blogging is a great way to drive lots of targeted traffic to our blogs. If you are blogging on popular blogs, you can expect decent amount of traffic coming directly to your blog. Apart from this, guest blogging gives you the opportunity to improve rankings for your targeted keywords by getting targeted backlinks from your guest posts.

My Comments – I believe the same. I’m a frequent guest blogger – and trust me, it’s fun.

Winding Up

That was a big list of traffic generation tips by several great bloggers. Now the only thing that you need to do is to combine all the tips mentioned above into a single ball – and play with it! Your blog shall reach the desired traffic and you wouldn’t even know when!

Include Yourself

If you believe you should be here, please do not hesitate to contact me with your tip and I shall include it within the next list – which will be out when ready with another 10-11 different bloggers’ tips.

Combing minds of the greats in the industry was indeed a great idea.

I’m nothing in compared to these kings, but still a little tip from my side:

I try to get traffic from Google, for a particular keyword and then convert it to my subscriber and get money from it too.

I make my blog ready for a first-time visitor and convert it to a loyal reader. So he will probably read my every new post = loyal traffic.

Well everyone has his own tricks and strategies, this one is mine ;)

Wow…So many good insights from top notch players. Yes, Yahoo! answers are like lost art. People are ignoring its importance now. I have not been much active on FB or other social networking websites for that matter. I guess I should try to be more active on them. Like Amit said, it is always good to depend on multiple resources instead of Google instead.

  • Reply Raaj Trambadia December 17, 2012, 9:42 pm

Exactly Ricky. One might not guarantee what you’d expected, but two have better chances to. Always try out new things – that’s what makes a successful player.

    Hello Raaj,

I really love this type of posts where there are many bloggers together speak about same topic on same page. And I get to know some bloggers by these type of posts.

Thank you for including me in your list. I am really happy to be on your blog.

Pradeep’s tip was pretty new to be than others. And also sounds kinda interesting. But I think, it will take long to start getting good amount of traffic from there.

Like Erik, I am also using JustRetweet. And I am loving it. It gives me tweets while I sleeping. :)

I did listen to Ms. Ileane’s podcast. And I was on the page till the podcast was finished. :D I did try to comment on her blog as well but I got to see this “Comments on this blog are restricted to team members.” Anyways, this was my comment “How’s this possible I go away without listening to what you have to say, till the end? :) “.

YOUR COMMENT -> “One more different approach to getting traffic. Contests not only bring traffic, build relationships and connections, but might also get you some money…… If you don’t agree, visit OddBlogger.com” :D

Always great to hear appreciations Abhi. Yes, Yahoo answers might take long but it also depends on the niche. You see, some questions are not directly answered within blog posts as they’re too short. Therefore, questions asked in Yahoo Answers (and other places) climb up the search results. Including links within the sources will then bring targeted visitors – what say?

Lisa, the traffic from facebook groups can be in two ways – One is to act like a link-gun and post links on every group, and the second one is to RARELY post links but yet capture the first-time visitors and make them regular readers. I believe in the second one – and have been successful in doing so.

    Hi Raaj,

You have done a great Job….. most of the time bloggers think that writing this kind of article is easy as you just have to collect data from different bloggers and put them in a post.

But I found that, publishing such post is more difficult than your usual post as you have to collect data from different bloggers then you have to compile them so that you can vert the material in a format which must be liked by your reader and you have to present the data in a format so that all blogger (or suggesation giver) should feel that you have given proper respect to all.

You compilation is great and your reader is liking it that is clearly visible through comment section.

Once again…..Thanks and congratulation for great post.
