Stand Out From The Crowd When Blogging – Is It Possible?

Stand Out From The Crowd

Different people define “Stand out From the crowd” differently. I am, hence, going to define it differently as I’m talking about “Blogging” here. When it comes to blogging, choosing a niche is where many beginners get confused and honestly, it is a bit confusing as there are thousands of questions which arise in the minds. Some only want to become a blogger to earn money while some have a deep passion for blogging, where the first priority is to show the real meaning of the word “blogging”.

When it comes to stand out from the crowd when blogging, it might be difficult for many not because of the content, but some other things which I’ll discuss down here. I’m not very sure whether you’re practicing these to stand out from the crowd, but if you are, then it’s a great news indeed!

Do You Really Stand Out Of The Crowd?

“I Speak A Different Language”

Well, you know what I mean by the term ‘language’ here. I’m talking about the writing style. If someone says that he doesn’t have any chance of writing better in a different way than the current bloggers in that niche, just because the blog is all about tutorials then I would say that he is 100% incorrect! That’s because a somewhat talented and pretty much willing person has an ability to give his own style in probably all the things which he does in his life. If I can give a simplest example, I would give the following – If a person says “Hey, waddup?” and you say “Hi, how are you”, then you’re speaking a ‘different language’..! So to stand out from the crowd when blogging, you better speak a but ‘different language’.

“I Stitch My Own Clothes”

stand out from the crowd

(Practically, I don’t!) Do you? Wait! I’m talking about your blog’s design! If you’re like me, who loves to visit new and different blogs daily, then you must have observed that MANY not some blogs have the same blog design and theme. Undoubtedly the content is totally different, but yet seeing the same theme on several blogs might just be boring sometimes and pull you away when you want to stand out of the crowd. I do understand that even though there are millions of WordPress/Blogger themes out there, not all are liked by everyone and I do agree that not all are as beautiful and satisfying as the one you might be using currently. But there’s something you can do and here’s how I define that ‘something’ -

  • Get a Framework (such as Thesis or Genesis).
  • If you’re good at coding, it’s time to use your time and talent and make your blog stand out from the crowd.
  • If you’re not good at coding, buy a unique skin for the framework. Honestly, there are many skins for the above mentioned frameworks but the best ones are being used by many. But look for new developers who sell Thesis Skins or Genesis skins and go for those ones.

If you’re planning to go for the Thesis Framework, I would love if you could wait for some time until I get my skins ready to enter the market!

“I Believe I Stand Out From The Crowd Because I Write For My Readers”

If you believe in yourself, there’s a very high probability that your readers also do the same. I understand that everyone wants to get on that first page of search engines, but then that doesn’t mean you’ll leave your readers confused. Take the search engine as a normal reader of your blog and write your posts in the way you would write to a normal person! The solution always lies within your thoughts. All you need to do is to pull the trigger.

So if you say the above statements loudly, you probably stand out from the crowd. Many of you might be like “Why hasn’t this guy talked about content!”. Honestly, you all know about the need and demand of quality content, hence writing it again here would just occupy some more space and increase the number of words, that’s it!

So what do you have to say about yourself? Do you believe you stand out from the crowd? Let us know down in the comments section!

I totally agree with you Raaj. Yes to be a successful blogger you should stand out in one or the other way from crowd otherwise your blog may lost in this online world which is already flooded with blogs in almost every niche.

The point, I like most in your post is “I Believe I Stand Out From The Crowd Because I Write For My Readers”.
Obviously all of us are blogging for reader’s sake only. Even if you want to earn money through your blogs that wouldn’t be possible till the time you get readers. So writing for your readers and in a language that they can easily comprehend makes you stand out from the crowd.

Also I believe that there are available only a few good themes and rather than trying to use a new theme to make your blog look different from others, it’s better to use a popular theme. Just personalize it to give your blog a different look.

Exactly Kris! Readers our the customers, in other way. I don’t say that there are only a few good themes. In fact, there are many of those. But the problem is that all the good ones are being used by everyone. Hence, it’s a bit difficult to look different you know.

      Thanks for passing by! Cheers

Target your great idea to a specific niche and you’ll find that your blog will stand out from the crowd. In the auto responder idea, you might want to target those who are just starting out. You may want to explain to them what an auto responder is, how to use it, where they can get a good auto responder services and so on. These are very basic information which many newbies would appreciate.

Yes we can surely stand out from the crowd. The only thing is that we should work on something of our own. We shouldn’t copy ideas from someone.
Anyways, thanks for writing this article.

Raaj I appreciate your effort in this post.

This is true that many bloggers are rising globally in a single day so standing out of the crowd is very tough.

And i am 100% agree with your point that we should not use the theme which is being used by many other bloggers. If we will do this then out blog will die very soon among those low quality blogs, so better make your own design if you are good in coding or pay some dimes to some good designer if you are serious for blogging.

To stand out from the crowd when it comes to blogging, one should be creative yet still be unique, in simpler terms, just be yourself. There are lots of those who write for their readers, but fail to continue writing or updating content that is interesting.

So true. Unless you don’t stand out of the crowd then you are going to look like the rest of the bloggers. Every Tom, Dick and Harry has a blog so why should people take a blogger differently. What matters is being different. For this one needs passion for blogging.

I agree with all your tips. Oftentimes, bloggers are so lost that they tend to follow the wrong directions without even realizing it. Making a blog standout takes time and patience, especially on tip number 5. You need time to build relationships with readers as well as other bloggers. It’s not going to happen overnight. We just have to keep on learning, learning and learning.

Your best tip is that we need to be writing for our writers. This is important to keep the readers attention and get them coming back. When they can see that you are really trying to help, it matters.

Thank you for your article (and please excuse me, English is not my mother tongue), do you write a second part to cover the subject entirety? In all cases, it’s a topical issue that will have to be treated in this way more often. Regards, Tom.

    Hi Raaj!
Thanks for this article! It’s so important to be unique and standout in some way. Most bloggers are not themselves for some reason. They think they need to copy the persona of others. I believe the best way to stand out is to just be yourself. Write like YOU with your own opinions about topics of interest.
As non-coder, I use the Genesis themes. They are easy to use and I can actually make tiny design changes if needed!
Stand out and be heard fellow bloggers!
    Thanks again
